GRENADE

These high-explosive concussion hand grenades (as opposed to a fragmentation grenade), looking much like their "potato masher" predecessors, and are as such easily thrown due to their elongated handles. They have two detonators; primary is an impact detonator - as soon as it hits something, it explodes. Secondary is a four-second timer, armed upon throwing, which is useful for throwing around corners and in tight quarters. (assuming you have an escape route). They have a very short range, so be careful about that five-meter radius yourself. Enemies rarely use grenades against you, but there are instances when you'll be hearing blasts and wondering where the heck they're coming from.

  • Primary Fire: Toss to explode on impact.
  • Alternate Fire: Toss with four second timer.
  • Pros: Useful in clearing out a room or as a distraction. Toss it in and watch them scramble as you're equipping your Assault Rifle.
  • Cons: You'll often find yourself caught in its blast if you lob it to detonate on impact. It's also very ineffective in actually killing just about anyone.
  • Recommendation: You'll barely use this weapon throughout the game, more often than not action is too heated to warrant a quick switch and switch back. It is a decent tool for geo-modding, but its blast radius isn't that large. Once you run out of Remote Charges this is the way to go.
