ALL TERRAIN VEHICLE
 |
Relatively fast and lightly armored, the ATV is better served to be a vehicle that ferries you from one place to another while offering up some protection as opposed to an all out military weapon (which of course it was not intended to be). You can either hop in the front seat and drive your way around, or you can stop the ATV and hop in the back manning the GX240 medium class coaxial/pintle mount machinegun. There will also be a time when you'll man the gun and someone else will drive, but you cannot shoot and drive at the same time though. You'll never square off against an enemy ATV. |
- Primary Fire: Not applicable when driving. Fires the machine gun if you're manning it.
- Alternate Fire: Not applicable.
- Pros: The machinegun is fun to man and spread bullets in a most pleasing fashion. The vehicle also handles fairly well and provides a decent break from the standard on-foot action. When given the opportunity feel free to run it right off the end of a retracted bridge into the waiting lake below, it's really fun to see and actually won't hurt you at all.
- Cons: It's surprisingly slow and people can even run faster than it! You'll find yourself chasing some guards and they'll actually run faster than you, leaving you behind in their dust. What the hell's up with that? It also really sucks not being able to shoot and drive at the same time. The back mounted machinegun also features no auto-aim in the PS2 version making it a bit hard to aim at times, especially when the people you're trying to shoot at are far away, as is often the case.
- Recommendation: Just drive it straight at people and things whenever you see them. Don't even bother manning the machinegun when its an option. There will be a portion of the game when you are forced to mount this weapon, and when such an event happens just try and do your best focusing your attention on the Aesir Fighters when you see them.
