The APC is a very fast and devastatingly powerful addition to Red Faction's vehicle lineup and it's a shame it only made such a brief appearance in the actual game. It's easily quick enough to run over all comers (in my opinion it even seems to be faster than the ATV, though it's hard to tell) and it packs enough firepower to thin out the ranks of even the toughest of armies because it's augmented by both a forward mounted ULT-80mm mortar and a ULT-6AG 20mm chain gun. You actually meet up against the APC very briefly toward the beginning of the game, but its not a problem to take care of at all.

• Primary Fire: 20mm chain gun.
• Alternate Fire: 80mm mortar.
• Pros: Pretty fun to drive, agile, speedy, and packed with firepower.
• Cons: Very brief appearance in the game. The Armored Personnel Carrier doesn't carry personnel, go figure. Battering ram on the front is useless. The mortar is completely ineffective against mercs unless you happen to hit them directly in the face with it, which is absolutely impossible. No auto-aim functionality in the PS2 version. For a vehicle that has been synonymous with Red Faction since the beginning it suredoes give off that feeling of just being slapped in there.
• Recommendation: You only get to use it once in the game, so do your best to enjoy it by blowing up as much stuff as you can, running over peopl, and mowing down squad after squad of mercs with the chain gun.
